Walter A. Wilson, III

Walter A. Wilson, III received his B.S. in political science from James Madison University and his J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law in 1982. In May 2007 he earned an M.B.A. (Finance concentration) from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. Since 2020 he has been pursuing a Ph.D. in History from Liberty University.
Walter has worked extensively in the title business since 1985 and provided MCLE courses to attorneys in eight different states. He currently is Vice President and Senior Commercial Underwriting Counsel for a commercial unit of Fidelity National Title Group in Richmond, Virginia.
Walter has previously served as a member of the Virginia State Bar’s Standing Committee on Legal Ethics, an At-Large Member of Bar Council (six years), on the Emergency Legal Services Task Force, on the Multi-Jurisdictional Practice Task Force, and as a member of the Standing Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law (10 years). He is a member of the Real Property Section of the Virginia State Bar.
Walter has had political aspirations and was elected to one term in 1994 to a seat on the City Council for the City of Fairfax. Walter has also served on the Board of Directors and as Co-Secretary of Hulls Drive-In in Lexington, Virginia – the first not-for-profit run drive-in movie theatre in the country. Currently Walter is a volunteer at the Plumb House Museum in Waynesboro.
