THREADS OF WAR: Industries, memories, and the people of Waynesboro
THE EXHIBIT
Come learn about the role Waynesboro’s people played in World War II and what the war years had in store for the community. “THREADS OF WAR” highlights those in the community who served in combat overseas to the homefront: the industries who supplied the war effort, those who funded it, and the families in Waynesboro that experienced the effects of wartime America.
THE OPENING
This exhibit, at the Waynesboro Heritage Museum, is free and open to the public. It will have a soft opening on May 8, 2025–the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day–and will run until November 15, 2025. On Saturday, May 10, come down to the museum and make a day of it. You can check out the exhibit, take a look at a World War II jeep and antique Ford Model As, and catch the 1942 film Mrs. Miniver at the Russell Museum theatre while enjoying some free popcorn.
